Southampton Aztecs are a women's futsal team based in Southampton. Founded in 2021 to fill the gap in the area for regular, competitive futsal for female players on the South Coast.
Futsal is a sport not taken seriously enough in England, and we have the power to do something about that. Not only is it a great tool for football development, but it's also an incredibly enjoyable and entertaining sport in its own right. The condensed playing area means that players rely less on their physical attributes (it is still a very demanding game physically) and more on their skill and intelligence to succeed. It requires a lot of concentration, discipline, intelligence, awareness, and creativity in order to succeed.
The Aztecs will be competing in the FA National Futsal Series, with BFCN as the sponsor.
